Ghost of a Tale

Ghost of a Tale wins with mood first: a small mouse moving through a world of old stone, danger and secrecy, where stealth matters more than force. By our assessment, the charm is in the animal-scale fiction and the patient sneaking, which gives it a gentler feel than the usual fantasy action game. The trade-off is that a stealth adventure like this can be unforgiving when routes are narrow or when the game asks for careful listening and timing. In practice it feels like a quiet crawl through guarded places, with puzzle-solving and avoidance doing more work than combat. It sits well apart from loud action fantasy, and it is best for players who like atmosphere, stealth and small stories over power fantasy, because the mouse is always smaller than the castle.
