Genesis Noir

Genesis Noir is a point-and-click adventure that treats time, scale, and motion as part of its puzzle design. What makes it stand out is the way it turns familiar detective-style wandering into a very abstract, visual, almost silent experience, with an art style that does a lot of the talking. By our assessment, that makes it one of the more distinctive indie adventures in recent memory. The trade-off is that it is often more about atmosphere and interpretation than about hard logic, so players looking for strict puzzle chains may find it looser than they want. In practice you move through scenes, click on objects, and work out what the game wants through imagery and placement rather than through long explanations. It sits well away from standard mystery games and closer to experimental narrative adventure, which is both its strength and its filter. Genesis Noir is a good reach for players who like mood, symbolism, and unusual presentation, and a poor one for anyone wanting tidy, conventional clues.
