GemCraft - Frostborn Wrath

GemCraft - Frostborn Wrath asks for the sort of attention tower defense fans like: building, upgrading, and squeezing every bit of value out of gem placement. By our assessment, that is where it shines, because the whole game is about making a small set of tools do clever work against waves that keep coming. The trade-off is time and focus, since the pace rewards planning more than snap reflexes, and a messy layout can snowball into trouble. In practice it has the familiar loop of holding lanes, combining systems, and watching a late wave force a rethink. Compared with simpler tower defense games, it is denser and more mathy, with more room for optimization. GemCraft - Frostborn Wrath is for players who enjoy tinkering with a defense until it clicks, not for someone wanting a quick casual round.
