Gem Tower Defense 2

Gem Tower Defense 2 is exactly the sort of sequel a tower-defense fan recognises at a glance: lanes, placement, wave management, and the steady work of building a better map of firepower. By our assessment, the appeal is the familiar loop done again with more room to refine builds and path control. The downside is also the genre’s usual one, because tower defense can become repetitive once the patterns are learned and the best placements are obvious. In practice it asks for attention to timing and positioning rather than reflexes, and it is the kind of game people return to for optimisation rather than surprise. It sits among compact strategy games, somewhere between casual defence puzzles and more demanding planning games. The name itself signals the sequel form plainly, and the number 2 is part of the title as recorded.
