Gear Up

Gear Up is a small-scale tank combat game where the draw is tinkering with loadouts and jumping into quick matches with absurd-looking machines. By our assessment, its best side is the simple loop of building a vehicle and then immediately testing that build in action. The downside is that the whole idea is narrow, so replay value depends heavily on liking its rough, arcade style. In practice it is the kind of game where the fun comes from improvised machines and short bursts of chaos rather than polish or depth. Compared with big vehicle shooters, it looks more playful and less serious, but also far less substantial. It is worth a look for people who want a lightweight customisation toy, and less so for anyone expecting a deep tank sim or a long campaign. The match ends as quickly as it begins, which suits the format more than it creates variety.
