Fuse

Fuse is built around four-player co-op shooting, cover, and the overcharged gadgetry that gives the game its name. By our assessment, the main attraction is the team switch-up mechanic, where each character’s weapon can move between normal and more explosive modes, so the flow is about coordination rather than pure aim. The limitation is that this kind of shooter lives or dies on repetition, and if the mission structure does not keep changing, the loop can start to feel standard. In practice it is a cover-heavy action game with a lot of speaking-to-teammates-in-spirit energy, but not much room for long tactical planning. Against other squad shooters, it is more of a mid-weight action title than a deep systems game, and the emphasis stays on moving together through firefights. Fuse is a decent pick for short cooperative sessions, and the ceiling is the familiar one for this style of campaign.
