From the Depths

From the Depths asks for patience, engineering taste, and a willingness to learn a lot before the machines feel alive. By our assessment, that is exactly why it stands out: it lets players build ships, planes, submarines, and other weird machinery from modular parts, then test them in combat. The genuine strength is the sheer freedom of construction and the way design choices matter in battle, from armour layout to weapon placement. The honest cost is that the systems are dense, the interface can feel fussy, and the first hours are closer to homework than play. In practice it is a game of tinkering, failures, revisions, and then the odd moment when a design finally behaves the way it should. It sits well beyond simpler vehicle builders and far from action-first naval games, because the building itself is the point. Anyone who enjoys elaborate systems will find a lot here, while players who want instant payoff probably will not.
