Freedom Fighters

Freedom Fighters stands out because it turns squad command into a third-person action game, with you directing a small team through urban combat instead of playing a lone hero. By our assessment, that mix gives it real identity: giving orders under pressure makes each street fight feel more tactical than a plain shooter. The downside is that squad-based action can get messy when the controls or camera fight for attention, and then the neat idea starts to feel crowded. In practice the game is about moving through neighborhoods, taking positions, and deciding when to push and when to let the team do the work. Against other shooters of its era, that blend of action and light command is the point. It is a good fit for players who like their firefights organized, but not for people who want pure reflex shooting with no extra layer.
