Flotsam

Flotsam asks for patience in a very specific way: it is a city-builder about a floating trash town, so much of the game is sorting, salvaging, and keeping people fed with scraps. By our assessment, its main appeal is that survival loop of dragging useful debris out of a poisoned sea and turning it into something barely stable. That makes it more distinctive than a generic management sim, and the waterlogged setting does real work. The trade-off is that the pace can feel slow and repetitive, especially once the basic routine is established. In practice it has the feel of a careful maintenance game, where small decisions matter more than dramatic swings. It sits closer to survival management than to a relaxed sandbox, and its systems are narrower than the biggest city-builders. The name fits the experience well, because the whole thing is about making a life out of what is left floating by.
