By our assessment, its strongest point is the way it preserves a classic story-driven RPG shape while making the systems easier to read in modern form. The trade-off is that this is still a remake of an older game, so the design shows its age in pacing and in how much time it spends moving from one encounter to the next. In practice it feels deliberate: talk, travel, fight, upgrade, repeat, with the familiar rhythm of a console RPG rather than a quick session game. It sits in the long line of Final Fantasy remakes, where preservation and convenience matter more than surprise. If someone wants a historically important JRPG with a cleaner presentation, this is a sensible place to start; if the aim is a modern, very fast-paced RPG, it is not that.
