Feign

Feign is a social deduction game that lives on bluffing, accusation, and trying to read who is acting oddly for real and who is only pretending to. By our assessment, its best moments come from the tense little conversations that happen when everyone is watching everyone else and the room starts to feel suspicious. The downside is built into the genre: if the group is not engaged, the whole thing can become flat very quickly. In practice it asks for a table that likes arguing, memory, and quick reactions to social tells, not for people who want a quiet strategic puzzle. It sits with party deduction games rather than heavier competitive systems, so the focus is on the group and not on rules load. Feign is best when the players enjoy the social mess of it, and it loses a lot of spark when that energy is missing.
