Fantasy Wars

Fantasy Wars is a turn-based strategy game for players who like moving units on a map, watching terrain matter, and weighing a fight before they commit. By our assessment, that kind of play can be satisfying because position, timing, and unit choices carry more weight than quick reflexes. Its weakness is also familiar: if you do not enjoy slower battles, menus, and the stop-start rhythm of tactics play, it can feel stiff. In practice these games ask for patience and a taste for planning, with the pleasure coming from small advantages accumulating across a map. It sits beside other fantasy tactics games rather than real-time strategy, and it will matter most to people who want decisions to unfold one move at a time.
