Fall of Light: Darkest Edition is a slow, punishing action RPG for players who want bleak fantasy, deliberate combat, and little hand-holding. By our assessment, its main attraction is the mood: it leans into darkness, narrow spaces, and the feeling that every encounter should be approached carefully. That same design choice is also the trade-off, because slow movement and stern combat can make it feel heavy even when it is doing exactly what it intends.
