FINAL FANTASY TACTICS :WotL

Careful planning matters more than quick reactions in FINAL FANTASY TACTICS :WotL. Its battles unfold on a grid, where unit placement and turn order make each move part of a larger tactical problem. The job system lets characters develop in different roles, giving players room to shape a party around preferred tactics. By our assessment, that combination of positioning and character-building is the game's lasting strength, and it sets it apart from the more action-led entries in the series. The political fantasy story provides a serious frame, though the battles are where most of the attention goes. The trade-off is a slower pace: turns take thought, and learning how different jobs work asks for patience. Players seeking a brisk, reflex-driven adventure may not enjoy that measured rhythm. A difficult fight is often solved by changing the party's jobs or approach, not by moving faster.
