FAIRY TAIL

FAIRY TAIL is for anime fans who want an action RPG wrapped in a familiar licensed world rather than a hard-edged combat system. By our assessment, its best selling point is the fan-service layer: the guild setting, character-driven party play, and the pleasure of moving through a well-known shonen universe in game form. The downside is that licensed RPGs often trade depth for familiarity, and this one follows that pattern closely. In practice it tends to feel like a straightforward, story-led party RPG with the comfort of recognizable names and the risk of leaning on that comfort. Compared with stronger modern JRPGs, FAIRY TAIL is less ambitious in battle design and structure. It is a reasonable pick for existing fans, while players who want a deep systems game will likely want something else.
