Exploding Kittens® 2

Exploding Kittens® 2 keeps the same fast party-game energy as the first one: short turns, comic chaos, and a lot of card-reading, bluffing, and bad timing. By our assessment, it works best as a loud filler where the joke is in the mechanics, not in any deep strategy. That also means the ceiling is fairly low if someone wants a long, careful game, and the humour can wear thin once the surprise is gone. In practice it should feel quick to teach and quick to finish, with wins often turning on one unlucky draw. Compared with heavier card games, it is much more about immediate reactions and table talk than planning ahead. The name, with its built-in 2, signals a follow-up rather than a reinvention, and that is exactly how it reads.
