Exit the Gungeon

Exit the Gungeon strips the run-and-gun formula down to something faster, tighter, and more vertical, which is exactly what gives it its identity. By our assessment, it is a bullet-hell shooter for people who like short, repeatable runs, constant movement, and reacting under pressure while climbing through rooms full of enemies. The trade-off is that it is less about long builds and more about moment-to-moment survival, so some of the heft of the original style is gone. In practice it feels agile and busy, with a lot of dodging, shooting, and adapting to whatever the game throws at the player next. It sits beside Enter the Gungeon rather than replacing it, and the difference is in pace and structure more than in basic attitude. Exit the Gungeon is best for players who want the same chaotic energy in a smaller, sharper package.
