Evoland 2

Evoland 2 is for players who like their RPG ideas mixed with changing rules, not for anyone who wants one clean, steady format. By our assessment, its main appeal is the variety: it keeps shifting between styles and game forms, so the point is partly to see what it turns into next. That also is the catch, because the experience can feel uneven when the joke or the shift matters more than one polished combat system. In practice it is a game of moving parts, callbacks, and genre hopping, which can be charming if you enjoy being surprised. Compared with a plain old fantasy role-playing game, Evoland 2 is more of a tour through game language than a single-minded adventure. It works best for people who enjoy reference-heavy design and do not mind rough edges between ideas.
