Europa Universalis III Complete is grand strategy for people who like running a country, not a single army. By our assessment, its strength is the sweep of the thing: diplomacy, trade, colonisation, religion, wars, and long-term state building all sit in one map-heavy system. The cost is the amount of attention it asks for, because every decision can ripple far into the campaign and the interface never hides that complexity. In practice it feels like planning, pausing, checking, and planning again, with more time in menus than in quick reflexes. Compared with lighter strategy games, it is far more demanding and far more historical in scope, and Complete suggests the full bundle of that older design. Europa Universalis III Complete is for players who enjoy long campaigns and dense systems, and it will not suit anyone wanting a quick tactical fix.
