Epicenter VR

Epicenter VR depends on whether its VR setup feels comfortable, because that is the whole point of the thing. By our assessment, it is likely aimed at the kind of player who wants a short, headset-driven experience more than a long, deep system, and that makes its appeal fairly narrow. The upside of a VR title like this is immediacy: it can use the headset for presence, scale and simple physical interaction in a way flat-screen games cannot. The downside is just as concrete, since VR always asks for space, comfort and a tolerance for head-worn play. In practice, that kind of game can feel striking when the controls and motion are clean, and awkward the moment they are not. Epicenter VR sits in the middle of the VR library, where atmosphere matters more than complexity and the ceiling is set by the medium itself.
