Enemy Front

Enemy Front goes straight at the appeal of a World War II shooter, with rifles, cover, and the usual march through wartime missions. By our assessment, it is most interesting as a no-frills campaign game that tries to deliver familiar combat without a lot of genre decoration. The downside is that this also leaves it competing with a huge stack of better-known shooters, where polish, pacing, and mission design matter a lot. In practice, it feels like a straightforward military game: moving, shooting, taking cover, and working through a fairly familiar structure. That makes it easy to understand, but also hard to treat as essential next to stronger entries in the genre. Enemy Front is the kind of game someone reaches for when they want a simple WWII shooter rather than a big, defining one.
