Earth 2140

Earth 2140 stands out as an early real-time strategy game built around base construction, resource collection, and swarms of units moving across a map. By our assessment, its appeal is the straightforward RTS loop: gather, build, expand, and try to keep the economy alive while the battlefield gets busier. The downside is that older strategy games of this kind often feel spiky in interface and balance, and this one is mainly of interest for people who enjoy that early-genre feel rather than modern smoothness. In practice it has the busy, slightly rigid rhythm common to classic RTS titles, where good positioning and constant production matter more than spectacle. It sits in the line of base-building strategy rather than tactical skirmish games, and that makes it more about systems than about individual units. The number in the title belongs to the name, and the game itself is very much a product of its era.
