Dungeons 3 is built for people who enjoy managing a dungeon from the villain’s side, with minions, traps, rooms, and a running war against would-be heroes. By our assessment, it does best when strategy and comedy meet: laying out rooms and units while the game keeps poking fun at fantasy clichés. The catch is that the humour and the busy mission structure can feel a bit much if someone wants a straight, quiet strategy game. In practice it is a lot of ordering, digging, building, and reacting to pressure, with the hand of an evil overlord doing the paperwork. Compared with serious dungeon management games, it is louder and more playful; compared with pure skirmish strategy, it leans harder on base-building. The 3 is part of the title, and the whole thing is more about playful control than about solemn conquest.
