Dungeon Siege

Dungeon Siege is remembered as an action RPG that keeps the camera pulled back and the party moving through dungeons, fields, and ruined places with very little fuss between fights. By our assessment, its main strength is the steady rhythm of looting and character growth, which makes it easy to settle into if that old-school flow is what you like. The trade-off is that the game can feel mechanically plain next to flashier action RPGs, because it leans on breadth and motion more than on complicated systems. In play it feels like marching a group forward, collecting gear, and letting the build carry the pace. It sits closer to the straightforward side of the genre than to deep tactical party games, and the name still fits that old Blizzard-era style of roomy, unfussy dungeon crawling.
