Duck Season PC wears the look of a light retro hunting game, but in play it is really about a toy-gun setup, targets, and a deliberately uneasy mood. By our assessment, the appeal comes from that mismatch: it starts as a simple shooting gallery and then pushes into something stranger, so the player is always waiting for the game to change shape. The downside is that this kind of design depends heavily on surprise and on the player accepting a short, focused experience rather than a broad one. In practice it is a compact game of aiming, watching, and reacting quickly, with more tension than depth. It sits closer to experimental horror than to a normal hunting game, and its name is plain about the old-school pose it borrows.
