Dreamscaper: Prologue is a small action-RPG sample that shows the tone and combat of the larger project without pretending to be the full thing. By our assessment, its job is to let players feel the loop of dodging, striking, and picking up a few temporary upgrades in a run-based structure. That makes it useful as a taste, but also limited by design; a prologue cannot carry the scope or long-term variety of a complete release. In practice it is the sort of thing you try for a quick sense of the mechanics, then move on. It sits between a demo and an early slice of a roguelike action game, so it is more preview than destination. People who only want to sample the combat may be satisfied; anyone expecting a full campaign should look past it.
