The trade-off is that this kind of retro-styled action shooter can feel rougher around the edges than modern arena games, especially if someone wants heavy narrative or polished cinematic pacing. In play it feels aggressive and direct, with movement, weapon swapping, and enemy clearing doing most of the work. Against safer, more guided shooters, it is more old-school and less forgiving, which is part of the point.
