Dokimon: Quest

Collecting and training creatures gives Dokimon: Quest its recognizable role-playing framework, with exploration and turn-based battles built around the team a player assembles. The appeal is in finding new creatures and deciding how they fit together, rather than relying on quick reflexes. By our assessment, that familiar structure is an accessible starting point for players who like creature-collecting adventures. It also invites comparison with Pokémon-style games, so its distinctiveness depends on the details of its world and battles rather than the broad premise alone. As in this genre, a lot of progress comes from building a capable team and learning which choices work in a fight. Players who dislike collecting, training, and repeated turn-based encounters may find the loop too familiar. Each new creature is another decision about the team's mix of abilities.
