The downside is that the experience can feel repetitive once the novelty of watching and cataloguing wears off, because the game lives on small discoveries rather than on big systems. In practice it has the slightly grubby feel of peeking at windows you should not be peeking through, and that discomfort is part of the point. It sits somewhere between a social-deduction puzzle and a resource-management game, with more personality than most cleanly designed sim titles. The name is also the joke, and the joke keeps working because the setup really commits to it.
