Divinity II: Developer's Cut

Divinity II: Developer's Cut is an old-school action RPG for players who still enjoy rummaging through character builds, loot, and quest lines without much hand-holding. By our assessment, its best side is the sheer amount of role-playing clutter it lets you tinker with: combat skills, equipment, and the usual fantasy progression all sit there waiting to be arranged. The downside is that the game’s age shows in the stiffness of movement and the rough edges around presentation, so it can feel ungainly compared with newer RPGs. In practice it is a game of menus, stats, and repeated fights where the fun comes from slowly making a build work. It sits between earlier Divinity ideas and the more polished modern Larian style, but it is not the cleanest entry point into the series. Divinity II: Developer's Cut asks for tolerance of jank and a taste for gradual power growth.
