Diplomacy is Not an Option

Diplomacy is Not an Option is at its best when it asks the player to think like a mayor under siege, not like a commander with endless breathing room. By our assessment, its strength is the pressure of building walls, income, and defenses while huge enemy groups keep piling in, so every decision has an immediate cost. The downside is that it can become a lot to juggle, especially if you do not enjoy real-time base management with constant urgency. In practice it has that busy, slightly panicked feel of scanning the map, patching weak points, and trying to keep the economy alive long enough to survive the next push. Compared with slower city builders, it is much more aggressive; compared with pure wave-defense games, it asks for more infrastructure thinking. It suits players who like strategy under strain and do not mind losing a plan to speed, while people wanting a calm builder will find the title very literal.
