Die by the Blade is built around one sharp idea: single-hit sword duels where spacing and timing matter more than long combo strings. By our assessment, that gives it a clean, tense feel when the duel system clicks, because every step and committed swing carries weight. The trade-off is obvious too: if the match balance or hit feel is off, there is not much else to hide behind, since the game is not trying to be a broad fighter.
