Dicey Dungeons

Dicey Dungeons turns dice rolls into the whole engine of play, which is why it appeals to people who enjoy roguelike runs where luck has to be managed rather than merely endured. By our assessment, its best trick is how clearly it ties equipment and abilities to the numbers on the dice, so every turn feels readable and oddly physical. The downside is built in: a bad roll can still spoil a plan, and some players will feel that pressure more than the charm. In practice it is a quick, sharp loop of rolling, slotting, and choosing whether to push on or play safe. Compared with broader deckbuilders, it is more compact and more obviously built around dice as a system instead of as flavour. The name fits the game well, because almost everything in it comes back to those little rolls and the decisions around them.
