DiRT 4

DiRT 4 asks for patience on loose surfaces, because rally driving is never just about speed; it is about lines, braking, grip, and not overcooking a corner. By our assessment, its standout quality is how seriously it treats rally and rallycross as driving disciplines, giving you a proper feel for cars moving on dirt rather than on tidy asphalt. The downside is the same thing that makes it good: if you want arcade drift chaos, this is less generous and more exacting. In practice it has the nervous rhythm of correcting slides, reading the road ahead, and staying calm when the surface keeps changing under you. Against other racing games it sits toward the more technical end, though still more accessible than the hardest simulators, and that middle ground is sensible. The limit is your tolerance for repeated mistakes, because the game rewards clean, measured driving more than dramatic saves.
