Desolate Wastes: Vendor Chronicles is a game about trading and surviving in a ruined, sparse setting, so its audience is the player who enjoys economy first and spectacle second. By our assessment, the main strength is the premise of making a living as a vendor in hostile ground, which gives the usual post-apocalyptic backdrop a practical shape. The downside is that a merchant loop can become repetitive if the game does not keep adding useful choices, and that is a real risk for this kind of design. In play, this sort of game usually feels like careful counting, short routes, and constant judgment about what is worth carrying. It sits closer to niche survival-trading games than to action or combat-led wasteland stories. Desolate Wastes: Vendor Chronicles is not for someone chasing big battles; it is for someone who likes a hard little routine in harsh country.
