Deponia Doomsday

Deponia Doomsday is for players who already know the Deponia style and want more point-and-click comedy with absurd puzzles and a lot of dialogue. By our assessment, its best quality is that it keeps the series’ busy, joke-heavy tone and mixes timelines in a way that gives the adventure a different shape from a straight sequel. The trade-off is that it leans hard on its own continuity, so the humor and structure land better if the world and its running gags already mean something to you. In practice it is a dense adventure game with inventory use, eccentric logic, and plenty of verbal back-and-forth. Compared with the first Deponia games, it is more of a twist on the formula than a clean fresh start. Deponia Doomsday is the kind of thing fans tend to read as a finale-like encore, while newcomers may find it all a bit too self-referential.
