Dementium II HD shows what a handheld horror game can do when it is built around corridors, pressure, and a constant sense of being boxed in. By our assessment, the HD version mainly matters because it brings that grim, compact survival-horror shape to a sharper presentation, without pretending to be a huge modern remake. The downside is also part of the package: the design is narrow, and the old-school movement and combat will feel stiff to anyone expecting a smoother action-horror game. In practice it is about slow checking of corners, scarce breathing room, and enemies that make every room feel like a bad idea. Compared with broader horror games, it is more claustrophobic and less polished in feel, and that narrowness is exactly what gives it its bite.
