Dead Rising 4

Dead Rising 4 keeps the series' odd mix of zombie comedy, improvised weapons, and crowd-clearing action, and that is still its main attraction. By our assessment, its strength is the same one the franchise has always had: letting players turn almost anything into a weapon while mowing through absurdly large undead mobs. The downside is also familiar, because this kind of spectacle can flatten into routine once the novelty of the gadgets wears off. In play it tends to feel messy, busy, and a little silly, which is part of the appeal rather than a bug. Compared with tighter survival-horror games, it sits much closer to power fantasy and sandbox chaos. Dead Rising 4 is for people who want comic-book zombie chaos, not tense scarcity or careful survival. The 4 in the title is part of the name, and the game leans on that long-running, intentionally over-the-top style.
