Daylight

Daylight is a horror game for people who want to move through dark spaces, pick up scraps of story, and keep an eye on what may be behind the next door. By our assessment, its main strength is the mood of wandering and the simple pressure of not knowing what will cut across the path. The trade-off is that the fear is built from familiar pieces, so the game has to work with atmosphere more than with a deep toolbox of systems. In practice, that means short bursts of tension, lots of looking around, and a lot of the experience hanging on timing rather than complexity. Compared with heavier survival-horror games, it is lighter and more direct, but also less rich if someone wants long-term mechanical depth. It is the kind of game that can land well as a quick scare without pretending to be anything larger.
