Dawn of Discovery is the sort of city-builder where planning the economy matters more than raw speed: you balance goods, shipping routes, and settlement growth while the map keeps asking for more careful expansion. By our assessment, its strength is that it makes trade and production chains feel legible, so progress comes from tidy management rather than noise. The trade-off is that it can feel busy in the late game, with a lot of menus and a fair amount of waiting around for the next link in the chain. In practice it is the kind of game that rewards a patient eye for supply lines and small efficiencies. Compared with looser colony builders, it is more structured and more readable, less free-form and less flashy. The limit is that if the numbers-and-routes side is not appealing, the whole thing stays at arm’s length.
