Dark Deity

Dark Deity leans on turn-based battles and party-building more than on spectacle, which is why it tends to attract players who want an old-style tactical RPG loop. By our assessment, its real strength is that straightforward grid combat where class choices and unit placement matter from mission to mission. The limit is equally clear: if someone wants lavish production values or deep system novelty, this kind of game can feel familiar very quickly. In practice it is about managing a roster, reading enemy ranges, and making small tactical corrections rather than chasing reflexes. Compared with the big-name strategy RPGs it sits in the mid-budget, indie end of the field, where solid mechanics matter more than polish. Dark Deity is best taken as a clean tactical campaign, not a grand reinvention of the genre.
