Dark Deity 2

Dark Deity 2 keeps the turn-based tactics loop very close to the classics: squad positioning, class growth, and careful use of terrain decide most fights. By our assessment, it is strongest when it gives you a steady stream of builds to tinker with, so the pleasure comes from shaping a party rather than from spectacle. The trade-off is the usual one for this kind of strategy game: if you want deep systems with a lot of tactical reading, it asks for attention every turn and can feel rigid when a map is already solved. In practice it is the sort of game where a bad move stays bad for a while, so each battle has a small tax in patience. Compared with bigger, more elaborate tactics series, Dark Deity 2 sits in the friendlier, more streamlined corner. The name itself is a sequel, and the extra “2” signals that it is built for players who already like this style and want another clean pass at it.
