Cubemen

Cubemen is a small-scale tower-defense style game built around little cube soldiers and quick lane defense, and that simple shape is the main thing it has going for it. By our assessment, it is most appealing when you want short tactical rounds rather than a huge strategy sink. The trade-off is obvious: once you have seen the trick of the cubes and lanes, the idea does not keep changing much. In play it is all about placing units, reading paths, and reacting fast enough when a line starts to fail. Against bigger, more elaborate defense games, it feels lean and a bit spare. That can be enough for a light session, but it will not satisfy anyone looking for deep systems. Cubemen stays a compact arcade-strategy piece, and it does not pretend to be more than that.
