Crysis 2 - Maximum Edition

Crysis 2 - Maximum Edition is the version of a shooter for players who want the high-tech armour, cloak mechanics, and set-piece firefights that made the series famous, plus the bundle treatment of a special edition. By our assessment, it is strongest when it lets the player move between stealth and direct combat in a city-scale campaign that keeps pushing the Nanosuit forward. The limit is also the series’ usual one: once the spectacle has been seen, the design is more about guided action than open-ended problem solving. In practice it feels fast, slick, and a little busy, with combat spaces that reward scanning, swapping tools, and picking the right approach for the moment. It sits between blockbuster shooter and showcase technology game, not as a pure tactical sim and not as a throwback run-and-gun. The name Crysis 2 - Maximum Edition carries the number 2 as part of the title, and the Maximum Edition label signals an expanded package rather than a different kind of game.
