Crying Suns is a tactical roguelite about commanding a fleet through hostile space, with room-by-room decisions, sector jumps, and a lot of pressure on each run. By our assessment, it stands out for mixing roguelike structure with a strong science-fiction command fantasy, so every failure still feels like part of a larger campaign. The drawback is the usual one for tactical roguelites: repetition can bite once the event pool and route patterns start to feel familiar. In practice it asks for patience, positioning, and a willingness to lose a run while learning the map of threats. It sits somewhere between Faster Than Light-style ship management and a more story-forward strategy game, without copying either one exactly. Crying Suns is strongest for players who like planning under stress and do not mind starting over when the fleet collapses.
