Crown Trick

Crown Trick asks for planning every move, because its battles are built around a turn-based dungeon crawl where enemies move when the player moves. By our assessment, that one rule gives it a neat tactical pulse: you are always thinking about spacing, escape routes, and which ability to spend now rather than later. The result is more deliberate than an action roguelike and less freeform than a big strategy game. Its weakness is that repetition can show through once the room-to-room loop becomes familiar, and the build choices have to do most of the heavy lifting. In practice it feels tidy, readable, and a little unforgiving when a bad step lines up several enemies at once. That sits it comfortably beside other tactical roguelikes, especially for players who like puzzles with combat attached. Crown Trick suits people who enjoy careful turns and map control more than reflex play, and the pace stays brisk enough to avoid feeling sleepy.
