Cosmic Dust & Rust

Cosmic Dust & Rust sounds like a smaller game built around a strong mood rather than a huge system, and that usually means it leans on atmosphere, texture, and a clear premise. By our assessment, that can be a virtue if the writing, art, or core loop is sharp enough to carry the whole thing. The downside is just as clear: smaller, mood-led games often have less room to surprise once the central idea has been read. In practice that kind of game tends to be remembered for its tone and setting more than for a wide range of mechanics. It sits closer to an artful indie project than to a broad commercial genre piece, which is a good fit for players who want something compact and distinctive and a poor fit for anyone expecting a large, systems-heavy adventure. Cosmic Dust & Rust is the sort of title that lives or dies on whether its central idea lands cleanly.
