Contradiction: Spot The Liar

Contradiction: Spot The Liar is a detective puzzle game built around interviewing suspects and catching contradictions in what they say. By our assessment, its best feature is the sharp little logic loop: listen carefully, compare statements, and press when a detail does not line up. The downside is that this kind of game can stall if the writing is not doing enough work, because the whole thing lives or dies on how well the conversations are constructed. In practice it feels less like action and more like sitting with a case board in your head, which is exactly why some players will love it and others will bounce off. It sits between point-and-click adventure and deduction game, with more emphasis on talking than on inventory fiddling. If someone enjoys reading people and testing stories against each other, this is a neat fit; if they want movement or combat, there is almost nothing here for them.
