Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is for players who want classic real-time strategy with base building, harvesting and fast unit production. By our assessment, it is at its best when the economy, the tech tree and the battlefield all push on each other at once, which is exactly what this series does well. The downside is that it is still an old-school RTS at heart, so it asks for attention to economy, map control and unit counters rather than letting the player coast. In practice it has the busy, click-heavy rhythm of moving between a refinery, a production queue and a fight in progress. Compared with modern streamlined strategy games, it is more demanding and less forgiving, but also more direct about what it wants. Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars keeps the series’ sharp, aggressive pace intact.
