Circle Empires Tactics

Circle Empires Tactics trims the larger strategy idea down to short tactical fights, so it asks for quicker reading of the board than a grand strategy game would. By our assessment, that compactness is its main strength: positioning, unit mixes, and the shape of the battlefield matter without the long upkeep of a bigger empire-builder. The trade-off is that the scale is smaller, so people wanting sprawling economy management or long campaigns will find less to chew on. In practice it is about making sharp decisions on a tight map and living with the result immediately. Circle Empires Tactics sits between light tactics and the broader Circle Empires idea, and it rewards players who like strategy in bite-size pieces rather than in marathon sessions.
